Hey guys, I'm in Sparland IL which is across the IL river from Lacon, IL, or about 25 miles N of Peoria.

I have a 1984 Ranger that I bought thinking it was an excellent original with low mileage. I found out later (looking closer, without my new / used vehicle afterglow) that it had actually been repainted (not very well) and patched up in some areas, including a poorly fitting aftermarket bedside, and had very low compression. Rangers have little to no value around here, and I paid a premium, so I decided to keep it and make it what it should be. Plus, the size is perfect for the yard and I can scoot around doing home / yard stuff without tearing up the turf. A fullsize truck would just make ruts.

Right now, plans are to take the winter and pull the bed, front clip, doors, and interior. I want to kill any rust and be able to keep the truck solid for around 5 years while I pay off stuff and do house type work. The engine is coming out to reringed and regasketed and I am going to paint it and the engine bay at the same time. I plan to put new carpet and dash pad in the interior, a better radio / cd player, new door panels, etc. The bed will get Herculined and a Truxsport bed cover. I'd like also to build front and rear receiver bumpers with D-rings for moving stuff around (like the motor grader in my sig). Maybe a small (2 inches) lift as well.

Hope to come to some meet and greets too!
