Default Picked up a used hitch, have some questions.

My sister in law's BF has a bunch of Chevy trucks in various stages of running condition, and literally half of an old house full of parts. He had a bolt on hitch that almost seems "universal", and with a bunch of measurments, it seems that it will fit my 95 Ranger. Here are my questions:

1. Do I use the same threaded holes that the bumper bracket uses? (this is one of the areas that measured correctly)

2. If not, should I drill and re-bolt the bumper and hitch assembly?

3. Is there such a thing as a universal hitch?

There will be more questions when I get it mounted and start finding stuff to tow, but I have to start somewhere. Thanks.

The hitch on my ranger was originally a univeral design that came off of a 88-98 chevy. The outer plates are like angle Iron with the tabs hanging out for the chevy, but I flipped them to the other side so they hung inwards and the stock bumper holes for the ranger lined up with 4 of the 6 holes on the hitch. Then I just drilled the two that were farther ahead on the frame.

The one I got is width adjustable with nuts/bolts on either side of the receiver opening. Did you use any of the factory bolts or did you use all new?

I just used 1/2" gr8 hardware. If it'll work, run it. If not, I've seen plenty of hitch's on trucks in wreckers for cheap.
