When I tried to replace my pvc valve on a 99 3.0 the one from the auto parts store is straight my valve has a 90 degree elbow on top I can't use a straight without replacing and rerouting the tubing. What's up?

the pcv valve you got probably is a universal part that fits in.

try a motorcraft pcv valve from ford, it should be what you need...I would think

Did you get one from autozone? Did you try using the old elbow on the new valve?

You are going to need to get one from Ford. That is the only place I could find one for my truck. But the told me I had to buy an entire rail, not just the elbow.

O'reilly auto parts sells one that has both the straight and elbow fitting in the package so you can use the one you need. At least that the way it was for my 03 ranger.

that's kinda funny cause i got one for my 2.3 that had an elbow and i had to break it off b/c the 2.3 uses a straight one. i bet if you take it back they can find one with an elbow.

The one I bought didn't have an elbow and I ended up breaking my old one because it was a bear to get back in. I went back to autozone and they gave me an elbow out of another package. Take the old elbow to the store with you.

After using differnt size hoses to fit the intake side and step down to the pcv valve, I managed to make it work , only to see the hose collapse while the engine was, I decided that I would just go to Ford and purchase. It can be done, but at what expense in trial and error and $ ( 3.0 flex fuel)

Use the hose that was on the truck. It is a royal PITA but it WILL work. It is a very tight fit.
