Removal of heater hose steel nipple from intake manifold 4L?

twisted and turned on mine yesterday. made about 10 revolutions but will not come out.
is this a pressed in steel nipple that feeds out of 4L intake manifold coolant thermostat area?

is there a replacement avail.? :dntknw:

IIRC it isn't threaded but simply pressed in.

I've got a 4.0 lower on my workbench I'll check it and get back to you.

it's pressed in and extended down into the water jacket 2 inches beyond the alum. l. intake manifold hole. finally had time to take of outlet tube housing and thermostat to look

old one is leaking several cups a day out the joint and on down along the bank of injectors not good.

will have to split the old one and remove. then tap the hole 3/8" NPT for stainless steel nipple like it should have been from factory

NOT a Furd better idea.

uhhh... I'm not sure I'd use a stainless steel nipple.

I would thread it 3/8" (if the hole is small enough to get good threads)

I'd search for either an aluminum nipple (Aeroquip/Earls/Russell) at a performance supply (Summit or Jeg's) and failing that I'd use brass.

Using stainless is just begging for the intake manifold to corrode around the stainless fitting.

Two words: Galvanic Corrosion

I dislike intentionally putting stainless steel in direct contact with aluminum.

Even when I helicoil a blind hole I spray zinc Chromate primer into the threaded hole before inserting the stainless steel coil.
