Default Tranny or T-Case Problem ?????

well .. I can drive my truck about 15 or 20 mins .. then my truck goes out of gear .. 4.0lt 4x4 elc TC .. 1996 B4000

seems like it slips .. but if I listen clostly it sounds like gears kinda rubbing .. and if I shift it into 4hi then back to 2hi most of the time it will go again .. and sometimes I dont even need to do that it will just catch again (if I am still rolling) and I can keep going .. but twice now it would not move in 2wd or 4hi .. so I put it in 4lo and it went and did not skip a beat .. drove (slowly) for another 30 or so mins and it never slipped .. so because of that I am leanin towards the TC .. but i read somewhere that the shift motors are bad on these things also ..

any and all help would be awsome ..

thanks in advance ..

ok .. so last night I changed my Transfer Case .. and it seems to have solved the problem .. I reused my shift solinoid as I could not find a used one to use and with not being exactly sure of what was going on I was not going to buy a new one ..

seems kinda odd i destroyed the chain in my transfer case twice. just swapped in a new case today in fact and i drove for 3 months with it like that. the main driveline is a solid shaft im wondering what was the real cause of that problem

I am not sure .. but I know I could hold the input shaft still .. and move the tail shaft and it was grinding and then there was a little pop sound .. and it was solid again .. really dont understand .. I will be takin it apart later this week to see what is going on ..
