The middle console in the truck has a little tab that locks it shut, well i managed to snap it off so now the lid won't shut. I glued some velcro on there and it works ok, but i know it's gonna pull back apart. anybody got an idea of a fix for this?

get one from a junk yard.

if yours is the same as mine on my 94, i've never seen one that wasn't broke/ :) the person who had my truck before me just took out whatever holds it open. works fine, unless i push it all the way back , then all my crap i on the ground.

When I still had the 60/40 my latch was broken so I got some quite strong magnets and mounted them in the lid and then put a screw into the bottom part of the latch and it would latch.

Here's a pic for clarification.

that's a pretty good solution, didn't even think about that. lol. i don't flip it up too much so it'd prolly be straight. and i'll most likely end up gettin another from the junk yard at some point i guess

dang, the screw and magnet thing is pretty ingenious. lol. never would have thought of that on my own, im not very creative...

everyone has that problem lol that is a good idea so you just dont use the black button anymore?

I cant think of one person who owns a ranger with one of the dang center consoles that was not broken. To the guy who came up with the magnets... You should get a patent and market them things! Mine boke and i got so tired of it being flipped open i just ripped the top out of it. Then that got old so i got some entirely new seats. The local salvage yards here wanted to sale a center console for like 100 bucks... Screw that. So now i got 05 civic seats.

i know the guy JB welded mine back together who ever had it before me, and its held up so far, if it broke in two, it seems to work

I got the idea when my friend was trying to use magnets to fix his guage cluster which I don't recommend except for getting ideas. BTW I'm pretty sure he never fixed the cluster.

Just be sure to get 2 magnets, one for each side of the strip of whatever you use to hold them on. Or you could try to glue them on but I'm not so sure about how well that will hold.

I did have baling wire around mine for quite awhile lol
