I found a '82 F-150 for sale, no price listed and I just sent a email to get more about the condition and the price. It has a 302, Auto, and is 4x4. From what I have been able to come up with it should have a C-4 or C-5 tranny in it, which while not as ideal as a AOD, at least it is 4wd as opposed to the C-4 I got with my 289. How well would the transmission and T-case work with my stock '85 drivetrain? I still have the D28 and 7.5 axles, and I don't know what T-Case this truck would have and I need to know how well it would jive with everything. It was listed in the parts section of the classifieds so hopefully the motor is shot, because I already have that part of the swap planned out.

That stuff would work. The transmission will be either a C4 or a C6 not a C5. Most likely it should have an NP208 t-case, could have a 205 if somebody swapped it in. Either will fit, the 208 is a little of a tight fit. You will have to make a set of driveshafts. If you keep a stock size tire and don't romp on it the 7.5 will hold decent and the D28 can hold for a while but I would keep a few spare shafts just incase.

The 7.5 will be just fine.

The D28 will hold as long as you dont put it in 4x4 :)

Just don't expect great things from the 82 5.0 motor. It's output was all of 100 hp, give or take 10. Thin block, weak crank (if it's the 50 oz crank) piss-poor heads, small retarded cam.

I am going thru a 289, so the 80's 302 has little interest to me, I was mainly after the tranny and transfer case. However they sold it sometime in the hour between them posting it and me replying, but given the # of F-150's in the area it is nice to know it will all go in.

I have had spares of both the D28 and 7.5 with the same gearing for about 5 years, I haven't needed anything off of them yet.
