Default Help Me!! Spewing Oil!!

Is this the oil pressure sending unit? When the engine is running oil is spewing from there.

When looking from the front of the engine, it is to the right and behind the crank pulley above the i-beams. It has an electrical connection.

**edit: Sorry. It is a '90 4.0 2wd Ranger

Yep, pull it out and put a cap in it for now. Standard pipe thread.

Yup, what everyone else said. The good news is that if it's leaking from the threads, you can just use some thread sealant. The sender is also quite easy to replace, and they're cheap like borscht.

Well I got that fixed. Super easy.

It just made me a little frantic when I am driving and all of a sudden the oil pressure goes to 0 and the oil light comes, and I pull over and oil is dumping out of the underside of my engine.

whew...

Could have been super ugly.

Thanks for the help
