My apologies on cluttering the general board with a specific question but I'm stuck. Got the spindle bolts off, but the abs sensor is in the way. I took the bolt off the back of the electrical connector, how do I get the sensor to slide back? Can I push from the outboard side or will I ruin the sensor? Second, how do I get the block around the sensor off the outside of the spindle? I see a small bolt, but its completely round from rust.

It slides out. Sometimes they are a little difficult to get out due to the road grime that "glues" them in there.

EDIT: And does that lower bolt have to be out before the sensor will slide back? or is that just holding that block on the front? It would be easier to work on that round bolt if I can get the sensor out of the way.

There is another bolt that holds on that "Shield" (chunk of metal)
It isn't "round" from rust it's round because it is nearly round it's a 6mm 12point head and you need a long necked deep socket to get the little bugger off. Either that or a cheap 6mm deep socket that you don't care about that you can drive on with a hammer and half expect to throw away. AD AD

6mm 6point is what I started with and it didn't need a hammer. I guess I'll need to try to find a 6mm bolt out, because I doubt I can get enough room to hammer a 5mm on there. Does that shield need to come off before the sensor will slide out?

I have never in 30-odd attempts to do so succeded in getting one
of those front wheel ABS sensors out without resorting to "extreme means" In this case "extreme means" is a really big taper punch and a BFH to drive it with and the sensor comes out in pieces. this is why I suggested doing proper diagnosis before disassembling ANYTHING in the ABS system the problem is that the front sensor outer shell is stainless steel and the steering knuckle rusts it into place, ass the knuckle rusts it swells and the flakey swollen rust locks the tubular body into the sensor so firmly that the bolt becomes irrelevant.
