Anyone else seen them? there were a couple when i lived in Fairbanks, AK but everywhere i got now, i get crazy looks for mentioning them.

Yes almost exactly like that, The cobra's have the trditional cobra paint (red, blue, white, with racing stripes) and i believe they have a V8 (could be lightning engine). ill see if i can find a pic.

I believe they were only a concept vehicle.

Ford has never built any "Cobra" Rangers. Since you said you only saw them in Fairbanks, it is likely a trim package done by a dealership.
There was the SVT Ranger in 1996 which used a Cobra 5.0, and the SVT Lightning Bolt Ranger in 2003 which used a Lightning 5.4. Both were just concepts though and did not have any Cobra badging. |

they were concepts, and a couple of times ford got about a foot away from building them... especially when the 5.0 from the mountaineer was a direct drop in... then decided against offering it for some reason...
