Here's an intersting one...
My nephew, who is blind and brain damaged, had a little run-in with a local police officer...apparently the officer did not identify himself as such and made a comment to my nephew about him 'faking' his blindness...which, of course, provoked my nephew into trying to 'prove' his blindness...and an ensuing "Assault Police" charge...this happened in a public washroom inside of the street center in downtown Barrie.
Of course he came home livid and pretty much had the same effect on me when I finally got the story out of him. I went up to the local police department to find out more details (I was pissed and about to offer the officer my services in attitude correction) and ended up speaking with the Staff Sargent about getting the officer suspended...to no avail.
It turns out the office lied about my nephew's not being welcomed in the street center on his arrest report. My nephew spends a good deal of his time there giving talks about wearing a helmet to prevent brain damage from bike injuries like he suffered. I contacted the staff at the street center to see what the situation was and if there were any witnesses and they advised me that my nephew is very welcome and they love him to bits (that's what the girl said).
Sooooo...this morning I go out to get the trash bins from the side of the road and when I turn around I see lunch meat on my hood...balongna to be exact...
Two slices...placed on the hood...
Since I don't usually order this type of lunch meat to be delivered and the neighborhood kids usually just throw trash on the lawn and driveway I suspect this was some kind of 'warning' from the officer...
My sister is now considering a law suit against the officer for abuse of authority and also seeing about suing for damages..
I haven't reported it yet, but I did get a shot of the meat...well, one of the two slices...and I have the meat in the fridge for a snack later...if I don't report it...
