I've been asked this a few times and figured I would post it here for reference.
Question - Why can't I find a suspension lift for a 1995 Ford Explorer? Answer - The problem on the 1995 Ford Explorer is the rear torsion bar mounts. Ford welded the rear torsion bar mounts to the frame. From 1996+ the mounts were bolted on. A Superlift kit could be used, but you would have to cut the mounts off of the frame. Superlift does not recommend their kit due to the difficulty of properly aligning the mounting brackets for the torsion bars. The reason for the new torsion bar mounts is to lower the rear of the torsion bars to equal the height of the front of the torsion bar. There is also a bracket that drops the lower control arms so the front axle shafts are not at too large of an angle. So in a nutshell, if you're looking for a used Ford Explorer and have a desire to lift it, stay away from the 1995 model year unless you want to do custom fabrication. Now you know.

For the 2wd models Camburg makes 3 lift kits for 95 explorers (ranger edge page) and summit racing sells lift keys. i have a 6in lift on my 95 from camburg with dual shocks and i gota say im very happy with the lift but i did cost a pretty penny.

i beleive i checked out the spindle idea for someone else with the same question and it was a no go, the dimensions were way too far off to make it work.
