Got a code 116 (ECT sinal voltage higher or lower than expected) what, exactly, does this mean? is the sensor bad, or not necessarily? It was replaced about 3 months ago. or is it that the coolant isn't within the expected heat range? I'm lost someone help me illuminate the light bulb please! :)

Bump! Anyone? any ideas? please and thanks.

If you can consistently get that code in a KOEO or KOER test (clear the codes first), check your connector and wiring and make sure it looks good, and then I'd replace it. Hell, it's a $14 part at Autozone, I'd just replace it again anyway. You probably got a dud.

Did you replace the one in the block, or the one on the hose that runs to the heater core (next to the T-stat housing)? One of the sensors is for the dummy gauge (in the block), and the other sensor is for the computer (on the computer). I would think only the one by the T-stat housing would be throwing codes.

If you insist on testing it, check out this: http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528018eba7
