Converting a $300 Ranger to a toy?

Hey guys, I had been asked by a few to post up an old build of mine, the 2wd project. Its an affordable "prerunner" setup if you want to call it that.

Basic facts.

Vehicle: 1994 Ford Ranger 2wd
Sale Price: $350 I believe I bought it for.
Build time: 2 weeks (evenings only and weekends)
Lift Components: Fabtech 5.5 full set, cant remeber kit name but bent extended beams with radius arms/hoops Kit is sometimes still found online, but not often...real expensive new, not so expensive used, and some Fox Shocks. Rear Deaver Leaf Springs
Fiberglass: Henneman and Glassworks.

Project Pluses. Very fun, super quick to build and build right.

Negatives, beams arent heim jointed, and either are the radius arms. Also Camber bushing hate these beams. I also felt the coils themselves were way to still for this light of a truck. I bought the whole kit from another ranger friend of mine who used to drive his to Michigan for the dunes out there, his truck was a bit heavier.

The truck when i found it, had been sitting unused for at least 3 years...

Keep in mind we built this whole truck in two weeks whenever I had free time, got a few friends over, and we wrenched right in the parking lot to my apartment haha, not in the lease but we did it after maintenance crews were gone each day, by the end of the build they were coming over to see what was new on the buildup.


Bedsides on (I recommend using one of the special made drill bits body shops use for spot welds, they work awesome and make this a super quick, clean job!)

Deavers compared to factory beat rear leafs




Tires on but not aligned and camber not set.




Toy somewhat complete, out for its first drives.


Playing a bit with bald tires






Little refreshing done on the inside too (cheap fixes)

Then I sold the truck, soon after it was rolled over, fixed back up, and here it is now its final stage of completion.

so i know the goal with TTB lifts is to keep your steering linkages parallel to the beams, but how did the truck handle with the bent beams and (stock?) pitman arm? seems like there should be some sort of disadvantage to that steep steering angle

The drop pitman arm was actually the last thing to come in, they sent me the wrong one and I had to wait, i tried not to drive it much other than to class (5 minutes) till it came in.

truck may be for sale.......current owner is nervous to sell it to someone young, who will hit his head on the cage tooling around on the street....

Sorry to bump such an old thread but does anyone know if this guy still has this truck?!??? Or know a way of contacting him? Does not seem like he has been here in a while

Anyone know who owns it now?
