Default Transmission Shifting Hard

2003 ranger edge 3.0L 2wd; Started yesterday, truck shifts really hard out of first into second... other gears seem to be shifting off time and a little harder than usual. Havent messed with anything yet. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I would start with checking the fluid for the transmission. When you check the fluid smell it to see if it smells burnt. When was the last time you did a transmission service?
