3/4 drop and 18's or 20's?!

first off i did a search and didnt find what i am looking for.
second i posted this in wheels and tires got 20 views as of now and no reponses; most of the guys in there seem to be into offroad stuff so i start it here also.
I just ordered the DJM dream beams and flip kit for my single cab 88 ranger. I was wondering if 18's will fit after the 3"/4" drop, are there any other mods that need to be done to make them fit, and what is the correct backspacing and offset to get? thanks for any info provided.

EDIT: I was looking at another 88 with the 3/4 drop sitting on 18's and didnt think the wheels looked that big on it. Can i fit 20's on it with the proper backspace and offset and if so what would it be? thanks again

these are 22x9.5 after the same DJM kit drop. and i still have full lock to lock, 20s shouldnt be a problem, although i'm not too familiar with the suspension changes or if your wheel wells are bigger. this is a 94'

the problem with the 1st and 2nd gen rangers is the small wheel openings. especially in the front. you have to run a smaller wheel/tire combo than the gen 3+ trucks. so the wheels may not look big but you cant really fit larger and clear the fenders when you turn. i would probably run a small 18 on a gen 1 or2. 20s could work, but you will probably lose some steering radius.

or i could possibly modify the front fender well to allow full radius with no rubbing? Im pretty good at cutting. I dont know the correct offset and backspace though. i guess a wheel shop would be able to help me but i was hoping to buy online and mount and balance myself to save $$.

If you want to cut your fenders, the sky is the limit, but it may look out of place on a lowered truck...

so im guessing if i end up going with a 5/7 later soen the line the 20's would definitely be a no go for that low. looks like ill jsut stick with the 18's, but noone knows the correct backspace/offset for them?

hey, i have 20's on my 90 ranger with a 3 4 drop and also have the v8 engine, so i think it sits a bit lower than 3, you can just roll the inside lip of fender well , and not have any problems of them rubbing, as for backspacing, i ordered a new set of twentys and told them i wanted a 90 ford ranger offset, and they worked perfect with no rubbing and i could go lock to lock.
