Exclamation aligning body to frame

i have a 99 ranger and the body came factory 1inch off to the left of the frame alignment.so i loosed up the bed bolts and the small panel strengthening rods to move the bed.n the damn thing will only move like a 1/16 of an inch.is there something I'm missing?

You shouldn't have to loosen the rods...they move with the bed on my Ranger...so they're not fastened to anything but the body...

Anyways...you may need to loosen the bolts a bit more...or take them right off and adjust the bed that way...use a piece of dowel or drop a bolt in the hole to keep it over the hole,...if it doesn't line up with the holes after doing that then the bed may not be out so much as the cab itself...the holes for the bed are not that big...don't really allow for much play from what I remember...but depending on how it is out of alignment...if it doesn't line up with the cab lines it may be the back end that is out...or the cab itself...not the front end of the box...when you move the back end a bit the front follows...

I farted around with mine for hours...once you move one part it becomes out of line with the other parts so you really need to make small adjustments in places...there is actually more room to play on the cab mounts (on my truck anyways)...

so i took the bolts all the way out and there is no more room so i will prolly have to drill some more holes huh? O and both the bed and cab are off alignment. when i put my lift and the wide 33's the driver side tire sticks out an inch and the passenger tire sticks out 2 inches.

The lift itself could be causing the difference...the holes are pretty much as wide as you need them so I don't recommend that...if the blocks used to lift are slightly off it can make an inch difference six inches up...but it sounds like the whole lift needs adjustment if the cab is off also...I haven't actually lifted my truck but just getting the body aligned on the frame was a challenge...adding a lift to the mix obviously compounds the problem...

So, my suggestion would be to start fresh and try again...at least that's what I would do if it's not obvious what's causing the shift...but someone with a bit more experience might be able to offer you more insight...
