what type of locker is best

whats the pros and cons to these lockers for the Dana 35 thats not quite a DD but not a dedicated trial rig.....Ox Cable locker....Aurburn Electric locker......Detroit EZ Locker......Powertrax Lock-Right.......Powertrax No-Slip....just not sure what i want to do and i know you guys will help me out

I have a lock right up front, works awesome. Dont need a selectable have lock out hubs. It has no effect whatsoever on the street, and its CHEAP.
 
I like the idea of selectable lockers...that way there's no need to get out and screw around with hubs all the time. For the front, I'd use an Eaton E-Locker. It's a fully open diff until you flip the switch, then it's fully locked. This way you'd never know it was there if you were in 4x4 with it off. For the rear, I'd go with an Auburn ECTED. It's a limited slip until you turn it on, then it's locked.

On a side note....I talked with an Eaton rep the other day. They're planning on releasing an E-Locker for the D35 in December/January.
 
Ive heard many case of the ECTEDs unlocking/slipping under hard wheeling. I personaly would a run a No-Slip rear and Lock-Right front. I DD my Lock-right in the rear, and have no complaints but a No-Slip would be smoother although its not offered for the 7.5...
 
locking diffs

ARB is awesome--air operated
OX is nuclear bomb proof!! best but pricey too.
ected is great --flip switch it is on.
lunchbox lockers are just no stronger than the carrier they are installed in.they replace the side gears in the diff.
prices ranger 900+ for OX to 300 for lunchbox type.
need to know what you are using it for,and what your budget is.if you are an occasional wheeler,lunchbox is fine.if you want more strength,go higher up the food chain.
 
which locker?

If you end up going with a "lunchbox" locker make sure you get the lock-right brand. They are the original and the strongest one on the market. I had one in the front of my 84 Ranger for 12 years and beat the living crap out of it without a problem. I also have one in my rock crawler(Toyota 4Runner) with 38.5 in. tyres and have never had a problem. A lot of people say you should not use a lock-right with big tyres but I've never broken one. Now I've broken a ARB, and a Detroit but as I've said never a lock-right. Good luck!
 
I run an Ected in my D35 and have had none of the problems professed by so many. If you live in a snowy area beware it is a limited slip when unlocked.
