has this been a problem on your truck or is this just an optical illusion? i dont have my driveshaft finished to put in yet for the front but it damn sure looks like it will hit the shifter linkage for the trans. dont see much you can do about it either. surely it wont hit, since they made the adapter for this use and all but it sure does look in the way to me. (also, truck is at full extension on the lift in this pic. camera is setting on top of the hoghead)

did you try calling the company who sold you the adapter? or sending them your pic of the problem?

not yet, as im not sure it will actually hit yet. it just looks too close for comfort to me. its an advance adapter kit, and i wouldnt think they would even sell something that would hit as its appearing it will. its just an AOD is so damn wide, but im sure they knew that when they made it. im gonna try to throw this driveshaft in and see what happens. just thought someone might have ran into it before

Any update on this? This is one of the long term upgrades that I am considering.

TIA.

Do all AODs have the shift linkage in the same place?

I agree that looks more than a bit funny.

I'd suggest removing the front driver's side spring and fully articulating the axle arm across its range with a jack, with the driveshaft connected.

Is it possible to rotate the adapter or transfer case by one bolt hole?

well its close but it looks like it will work. its not rubbing anywhere. i may have to modify the linkage a bit though. no biggie
