Default tranny not shifting

I just did a V8 swap in my Ranger from a Mountaineer, runnin great, goes into drive and reverse quickly, it just doesn't shift outta first, I am getting codes P0707 trans range sensor low input and P0500 veh speed sensor A malfunction, could there be a conflict between the ranger speed sensor and the Mountys I assume it is located on the rear axle, I changed the nuetral selector switch from the old tranny,,,any ideas? thanks Neil

You dont say what year but i think youd better go back thru the wiring and check to be sure you have all your positive (+) and ground(-) hooked up accordingly on the computer kinda sounds like you may have aground problem and im not to sure about the compatibility of a MLP out of a 4R44E 0r 5R55E and an AODE or 4R70W. Dont know what ya had.

I have a 98 ranger 3.0 AOD, I put in a 5.0 AOD from a 98 Mountie, one thing I noticed is a relay clicking noise under the dash behind the instrument panel when in reverse, wasn't there before, maybe the shift relay doesn't like the 4r70w tranny,,,Neil
