ok i found a guy selling 33x12.5x15 pro comp mud terrain tires for 600 they have about 80 to 90 % tread left

what i want to kno is if im goin to have rubbing up front cuz i was just thinking about getting 1 or 2" spacers for up front to handle them but im not sure if that 33's are goin to put to much stress on my lil stock 3L with stock gears

i kno the 130hp i got is going to feel like 90 or 100 with 33" but im not a speed deamon i just want some bigger tires my 31" are cutting it any more

You are definitely going to want to regear if you move up to 33s. My rule of thumb on clearance questions is this: get the tires, put them on, and go from there. They may be fine, or you may need to add some lift or trim the fenders a bit.

ok cool thanks well if i get them and i realize i need to re gear what would i have to do??
i kno nothing about gearing what gears would i need an is it a hard job to regear my re diff???

They take skill to set up, and are usually best left to a shop. With 33's I'd regear to 4.88's. That's what I'm planning to do(33's or 32's w/ 3.0). They do say though, that if you can rebuild an engine you can set up gears. For 33's i'd run a spacer under the coil and possibly a body lift or fender triming?

i just put on 33's with a 3.0 and 3.73, i cant really find that much of a difference in power level, besides 1st gear(not a huge difference). i put on a 3"bl, and 2inch coil spacers.... fits fine!, but at the same time, mine are only 33x10.50's not 12.50's. i am going to regear, but only to 4.10's. i totally expected stock gears and 33's to be a lot worse than it is!!!! but its fine, even in the hills that i live in!

You don't need to wait until you put the tires on in order to determine if you need to regear. You will need to regear if you have stock gears, unless maybe they're 4.10s.

Unless you have set up gears before or know someone who has and will help you, have a shop do it.

ok cool thanks like where could i get 4.56 or 4.88?? out of what at a junkyard or???

cuz my friend is giving me a deal on he thinks there 33" on AR rims all for 700 the tires are brand new but hes bringin me one monday to see if they are the same bolt pattern as my truck

could i put them on my truck drive around an if i really notice like its sluggesh and that ill try to see how much regearin would cost me

at my school i have an double credit auto mechanics class where i could get my shop teacher to help me with regearing (hes a licsenced mechanic) or should i just see how much it would be at a shop??

does regearing mean i have to get new axles and all the stuff or do i have to just take the gears that are in the diff out and put 4.56 gears in an like aline everything

You can get the gears from gear manufactures, not from a junkyard, unless your reaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy lucky and some idiot threw his regeard truck into a yard...

You could ask you teacher if he could help, but if they're not set up correctly, they can just blow themselves up in a matter miles....

Yes, all you do is take out the gears you have now and put in the new ones, the axle it self stays in the truck.

ok cool well i was talkin to my pops about it an he was saying that it might be easier to get a whole rear diff with like 4.10 or 4.56 in it and swap it into my truck?? is that an easier way or
also what vehicles have those gears in it that will work on my truckk??

if you can find anouhter rear end that allready has the gears you want in it, you can swap them...if you have the 7.5 wold not be a bad ideal to upgrade now to the 8.8 and gear that or buy a 8.8 that has gears in it.

the front, is the 3rd member set up, like a ford 9inch.you call pull hte pumkin out of it and have most places "bench" job it at a better price, since you save labor time.

once again, you could always buy a 3rd memeber that has the gears you want in it...sometimes people have the forsale used.

good time to make sure you have a true dana 35 also, dont want to sink money in to the dana 28 stuff.

ok thanks so some one told me that i could get a 8.8 out an explorer with 4.10's in it ?? will 4.10 beable to handle 33 or 32??? also what rangers have 4.10 or higher gears??

how d o u kno its a true dana 35 not 28??

if i put like 4.10 4.56 gears in my truck will i lose HP and gain TQ? also will i still beable to get up to like 115 kmh for highway speeds?

you wont gain a thing with out regearing! without regearing it would just be slower, gears would only add rw torque, but it would seem like it adds horsepower, horse power can only be made by engine. but it would put cruising speed at the right powerband(rpm) (would seem to have more power)with my current 33's and stock 3.73, i can get up to any speed i want(within reason) just use lower gears more often!
