My credo
I need more sleep.
On the front of my truck I have some long range driving lights from kc, they work great but really didn't give me the higher up lighting. So recently I added a roll bar and today I got the lights mounted, I'm going to wire them up tomorrow since it's cold as crap today. But these are long range kc's and should do well, my only concern is that they sit to low, but I think they will be fine. I also have to modify the roll bars a bit since they are garbage thanks to go rhino not assembling them right.

So they come with these non relay wiring kits, but the problem is it wont go far enough to the cab to I'm going to have to extend it.

Today I started wiring them up, it's not long enough so I will have to lengthen it.

I'm thinking about putting them all on this.

Update, it's been raining today but yesterday I managed to cut off the harness and I spliced the power and ground wires into the lights, put them into a conduit and ran it under my truck, I'll throw up pictures later. Now I just have to re-connect the harness and run the wires into the truck.

So today I wanted to go out and get some more caps and exchange some stuff, but due to the fog this morning there is no way to leave our little island due to about 7 big rigs with diesel fuel crashing.

It stopped raining and warmed up so I pulled it into the garage and started running the wires. I have to get some other stuff but I have run the wires into the cab through the fire wall and now I just have to get a plate to mount all the switches. Oh yeah I have to get a new battery also because mine is coming to the end of it's life, bulging out and leaking out the top causing corrosion so I will be picking up a new one, one with better cranking amps as well.

I tried to leave to go get a battery and other stuff, but due to the wreck I am trapped in my neighborhood due to big rigs surrounding it at a standstill.

So today the wreck was cleared and I went out and got a new battery, with a little more amps and I got the connectors and stuff I needed. Last thing I need to order is a plate to hold all the switches so I won't get that mounted till next week. On the plus side all the lights are mounted aimed and working great so the switch plate will just be for aesthetics.

The lights look good! What watt are they?

Slightly off-topic question; how do you like those AT2's? Any complaints? I was looking into them in the same size you have for my 02'.

55W, the AT2's are great, my truck is only 2WD but with those tires they get me where I need to go. There really quiet on the road, and great traction off-road because they are so wide and flat, and I got a really good price on them. They are some durable tires, rocks, cactus, branches, and even curbs don't phase them.

Looking good, will you be running a relay in there anywhere?

55Wx4=220W
220W/14.4V=15A

15A is a pretty good amount of current to run through a little switch, I know they all say "20A rated" but I've melted them with 10A before.

The harness that came with them are non relay, but I have a separate switch running to each 2 sets of lights. I did end up melting my interior lights switch but the light was annoying anyways, but I'm replacing that one with a kc hilites switch.

So today I got the new switch panel cut and painted, and also cut a hole in my dash for it.

So today I got my glue on and got everything wired and installed.
