EGR too high

I have replaced the EGR valve because my check engine light came on and my OBDI tester gave a code for low EGR. With the new unit I now have a check engine light with a test code for too high egr. Any ideas how to fix?
 
Remove the negative battery cable for 5 minutes to reset the computer so it can relearn engine data with new EGR valve in place.
