Hi I have a 1988 bronco ii that needs new tires. I was wondering how much fender trimming would be involved for running 31"s.

I wouldn't think too much. It depends on the offset of your rims but probably just the bottom back of the front fenders and maybe the front a lil.

I'm not sure on that. I assume so. How wide are you wanting to go? You might rub the frame or radius arm a lil. It's been a real long time since I've messed with a stock suspension.
There's a chart in the forums that will give you a good idea of trimming and clearances.

I'm not to sure on how wide I think I might be able to 9.50 wide tires not to sure . I'll have to go to the tire shop down the road and take a look and see what will fit

By the way how do you like the 302 conversion?

I put 32/10.50 on my B II with no lift. had to trim the fenders forward of the tires, and rolled the rear side of the fender. didn't take much in the rear, just folded the lip up. my wheels had 1.5" offset, making a wider stance

I ran 30 on stock rims with no lift and no trimming for ever and had great tire clearance

Oh ok I doubt you'll have much issue with them then. You might not even need to trim the fenders if you just bend the corners back with some channel locks if you care don't care much about how good it looks.
I'm loving it! It has a ton of power even with the wore out block I have now. I started off with a rebuilt block but it started knocking so I pulled it and I'm gonna have a shop go through it this sommer. That should give me around 100 more horses!!! As it is now I can put it in low and crawl up a bank till the carb floods. I'm gonna fix that though by switching it to efi when I swap the new block in.

"my wheels had 1.5" offset, making a wider stance" what rims where you running

Rowdy I might have to do a 302 conversion in the future

i ran 31s on the stock rims with no trimming they only touched the the plastic inner fender if i would hit big pot holes or going into parking lots with big curbs.
