Im having trouble with my 93 STX and I was asking my neighbor for advice. He said his jeep has a asd switch (automatic shutdown relay) that controls all the things that arent' working in my ranger and that could be something to look for. Does anyone know if the 93 3.0 has anything similar to a asd switch? Im not getting any spark and my fuel pump isnt coming on with the key. Thanks guys.

Not sure if the 93 had it but maybe the fuel pump inertia switch? Only thing i could think similar to it. It's located in the cab on the passenger side fire wall at the bottom near where your feet go on my 97. I know mine came unplugged once. Ofcourse i think the fuel pump inertia switch only cuts off fuel to the engine. Not spark. When you crank the engine does it sound like it wants to fire? I know that's how mine sounded when it came unplugged. Hope this helps. Atleast gives you a place to start. You might have to pull the carpet back some to see the whole switch.

no asd on the ford

fuse check??

Yea. Ill check it again but that was one of the first things I checked. Totally wants to start just no spark. I can Hotwire the fuel pump in the distribution box and still nothing.

Finally found the problem. One of the harnesses going to the trans was shorting out. I unplugged the harness and started right up. Haven't bothered to track down the short tho. Polly just get rid of the truck...
