I'm fabbing this up because I want it to match the rear that I just finished. Also, my stock chrome bumper was starting to get some rust creeping over from behind. I'm using the same 8lbs/ft 6" C-chanel that I used for the rear.

For the mounts I started with the stockers and went to town. Pics explain themselves. Two in shear one in tension just like the rear.

In this shot I just had the C sitting on the mounts. I quit for the day before I welded the C to the mounts. I'm still turning it over in my head how I'm going to make it follow the body. If I do it with cuts and welds I'll need at least 3 cuts per side. I'm thinking I might be able to notch and bend with acetylene but I don't know if I'll be able to bend it evenly because the steel is so thick.

Looking pretty good. I just trashed my second stocker, so i'm going to do the same bumper you are doing currently. If you could post pics of the back side of the the brackets where they attach to the C channel, and maybe where and how much you are notching it make the bends. This will be my first fab project, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for posting this up.
