New posts not working correctly

When i click the new posts button it either doesn't load up at all or it loads up with everything current to about 3pm yesterday. when i click on a thread i get a database error. I get the same error on some threads even if i go through my subscriptions or by going through the appropriate sub forum.

Ya, we have problems. I'm getting weird database errors emailed to me from the server, and can't log in to the admin panel.

Ok. I ran a repair of the database tables and was able to log in to the admin panel once that was completed. I then created a test post to ensure the forum was working. And finally, I ran a backup of the forum database just in case the forum should fully crash - we won't lose all the posts.
