Ive been kicking around the idea of posting up my build tread for some time.
And with so many updates and work done to the truck I figured its about that time to let others view my truck.

(front)

Replaced Camburg coils for Fabtech coils ( NOT HAPPY )
Forged beams pied and extended 4"
16" limit straps & all urethane bushings/stops
Race Runners 2.5x10" Remote resi shocks
4.5" Glass from Fiberworxs

(rear)
Explorer leaf packs/ overloads removed. (now sagging :annoyed: )
1" belltech beveled pinion block
Belltech shackles
Fox 2.5x12 smooth bodies w/ remote resi
Bed sides pulled, departure relief cut.

(wheels & Tires)
Dick Cepek DC1 15X9.5 4" offset
BFG All terrains 33X12.5X15

(extras)
2007 Ranger mirrors ( modded to fit a 95 )
Aftermarket tail lights
Spider LED turn & brake light bulbs
6000k bi/hid head lights
98 Explorer Bucket seats and console.
Cluster changed to tach cluster
Tinted windows 35% & 20%
Aftermarket Alarm

I know Im forgetting things, but you get the idea, far from stock.
And now for some pictures

The truck Last September when I bought it.

The last time any one would see the old flag mirrors on it.

The 2007 mirrors look like they where meant to be there.

The following weekend the truck went under the knife.

All that hard work to get a truck to turn out like this.
And i drove it like that for some time.

Recently a few of the DR & TRS members got together and we ended up turning a few wrenches, and well needless to say my truck changed forms again.
Thanks again guys for all the help.

Pete and my self pulling the bed sides

And just a random night time shot in the walmart parking lot.

There is still alot to do on the truck, I need to deal with the bumpers, the 8.8 with 4.11 gears, 64" leafs, shackle flip, an engine cage, 2.5x14 coil overs for the front, cantilever setup for the rear,
frame supports, and the list goes on and on and on........

Im siting at 12" on both front and rear.
not to bad for a mid travel with bushings, as for the rear its limited by the shocks.

these numbers will change in the future when I go heimed up front and 64's in the rear with a cantilever setup.

I had a similar setup on one of my old rangers. 12" is pushing it for the rear setup.. My current leaf pack will travel 20". The problem is.. The leafs will seperate at droop.. I have it limited at 15". Anything more and I'll kill the leafs. Travel numbers honestly don't mean crap.. Keep it reliable and dial it with shock valving from there. You'll end up with a better finished product.

Did you extend the beams already?

The fab tech coils are horrible. My brother had them on his truck with 3" over beams. They lasted about 4 months.. :dunno: The Eibach (camburg) coils do great with stock width beams. If you can't afford coil-overs and are running 4" over on the beams look into the F-150 5.5" lift coils. I ran them with 5" over beams and had great success. The beams had 5.5" of lift built into them. The extra spring rate helps with the increased leverage.

You'll find the stock steering doesn't like being pushed passed 16" of wheel travel.. I'd reconmend a single swing setup -or- find a way to make the driver tie rod longer.. The steering on these trucks are crap..

Thank you,

I have 4" ext beams.
as for the springs the biggest problem I have is the 2.3L; there is no weight up front.
the old Camburg coils where sagging but had a nice ride.
I plan on a set of coilovers.

Just found your thread 12 days later. You know already, but melikey your trucky.

I'd like to help with the 63" leaves and the sort. Let me know the next time you want to get together.

Sorry again for the driver rear fender. :bawling:

Which shocks were you planning on using? I thought you could rebuild the ones you've got now...

@ pete

Its all good.... and thanks.

I can rebuild all my shocks, and revalve them if needed.
But when I change out the front to full coilovers, the buckets, coils and shocks will all go to be replaced by a engine cage that will double as my coil over mounts and the coil over will be a 14x2.5 .

Nice progress. How long did it take you to do all the LED work?

Namely the dash. Do you notice less of a draw regarding electrical consumption with the LED setup?

From the stock setup to all led, just over an hour and a half. including removal, soldering, and reassembly. its much easier on the eyes. As for a draw I haven't checked it with a meter yet but Im pretty sure it will be a lot less.
