I was browsin receiver hitches today and when reading the applications on the box, the Ranger was mentioned, but not for a step bed....

Reasons?

Thanks

Looking at the Ford shop manual, the only differences they show are those between the body/drive configurations, (ext. cab/reg., 4x4 or 4x2) not what bed is on it. Would think no difference.

My thought exactly! I didn't think there would be a difference at all between the two. I'm guessing it has something to do with accessing the frame rails because of the smaller bed.

I'm gonna go pick one up and figure it out. If it doesn't work, well I've got a saw and a welder.... I'll make it work!

the beds sit on top of the frame, so changing the bed would not effect access to the frame.

and the frames are identical between step side and fleet side trucks.
