I have a 98 F250 4x4. I believe this to be a bad hub (they are automatic locking), but when I drive straight down the road I have an unusual humming noise. but when I turn to the right it drastically quietens down. I had it aligned 6 months ago, and the wear on the tires are normal, no squealing\squalling from them, just that loud mud tire sound, which I do have mud tires redesigned for highway use as not to wear out quickly. Firestone Fierce LT315\75R16.
If it is a hub, turning to the right quits it would mean the right hub is bad? I have checked the balljoints and tie rods, all good and solid. |
