(I did a search, but couldn't find a thread dedicated to the places where we work on our stuff. I might have missed it; if so, apologies....)

I have two "shop areas" where I do my thing. Not enough room on our property (long story) for a garage, so I have to make do with a 12x12 shed outside. (I do have a good long, flat driveway.....)

First, the outside shop.....the "walk-in toolbox".....a bit cluttered, but I know where stuff is.

Now, the basement shop area....again, excuse the organized mess....

Heading to the power-tool storage area

Power-tool storage (just to the left, out of the pic, is my benchtop table saw and area for levels and squares)

Parts bins and drill press area

The "paint booth", complete with custom exhaust fan (range hood vented outside). The brown machinist's chest holds drill press toys - bits, blocks, etc.

Secondary workbench area, with the scroll-saw and more parts bins

Still more of the secondary workbench, showing the rotary-head vise and more storage

Shelving with storage for electrical boxes, switches, stuff like that. Glues, paints, and sandpaper are farther to the right, just out of view.

The rollaway....not a lot of room for one much bigger. It holds the usual stuff - wrenches, screwdrivers, test equipment, precision measuring tools, more power tools, etc.

The top of the rollaway, with all the sockets

The tool-bucket I usually take with me when I get called upon to do stuff at someone's house....it would take a separate thread for pix of all sides......

Ah.....the joys of being a tool-junkie.....

I'm Impressed ! And the area looks clean & tools wiped down......Good habit there, Bro !

Definitely a lot neater than my shop. I wish I had your organizational skills.

Richard

I got shade, sort of. Big oak tree next door. Stupid squirrels get up there and toss acorns down at me sometimes.

Looks like yoiu make good use of what your given, wish i could keep my garage that clean!!!!

I just wish I had the room for a real garage. Many years ago, someone decided it would be smart to sell off the southern part of the lot my house is on, and build a house there. So, no room for me to put up a garage, and the house there has no real yard.

i wish the shed here at the house was that organized... wanna come organize it? lol

I've actually remodelled 2 garages, and did them the way I'd do one of my own. OSB all around the bottom, 4' up....then from there to ceiling all pegboard. Tons of lights, electric, cable, phone....it was fun.

that's the plan for our shed.. just gotta stop working on other crap first....

so should i post the pics of the shop here??? lol

That's why I started the thread....post away. I did a search, but didn't find one like it. Figured it would be a cool one, to see what everyone has.

Over the winter I begged/borrowed/stole a stall at work to do my swap. It is a newer addition where they usually keep a service truck, it found a new spot and I got this to play with. Winter is pretty slow otherwise I couldn't have gotten it. Did most of the takin' apart an puttin together in there.

The main bay where I did my heavy lifting, 60x100 pretty much anything but a car lift (which would be pointless at a tractor shop)

I am buttoning down some oil leaks at home now, I outta get a pic of the swamp I have to work in there. Mud floor, extension cord power, no air, no room to walk around front of truck with the door shut... although it is way more than warm enough in there right now (with no moving air I might add) Tools are in a seperate shed because to floor won't hold a box... and there isn't room for one anyway.

I really need to find a house, or at least a 4 car garage with a kitchenette, bathroom and room for a cot... :icon_idea:

If I could build my dream house, it would be just that. A bedroom or 2, bathroom, kitchen, garage. Of course with 4 bays, one would be a man cave. I would love to just live in a giant garage period.
