Ya seeing how my truck is a mudding truck, a diesel just isnt the way to go for me, just love making my engine scream at the top of its lungs, 6000rpms+.

But as a DD, I would so do that, getting 10mpgs now I wonder if a diesel would be any better (or even break even).

Even if I found a perkins 2.2 2wd somewhere I would so drive it, Im not a power hungry speed demon person, or I would have a terrible driving record.

he he he.

well a decent 6.5 with a turbo and proper gearing mitigates the mud aspect. it would be a mud monster in an rbv with no ignition worries if built towards those ends..

economy of operation of a proper tune 6.2/6.5 embarrasses its equal time period gasoline counterparts. even with the power jacked up and a turbo added....just makes its counterparts look that much worse.

i average 15/17 mpg currently in a very poor tune n/a 6.5 that is dying, with your sas you can swap in a 6.5 realistically under 1200 bux fairly easily with smart shopping. i did it under 400 bux. over 2.5 years to call it an effective payout is an understatement. especially since some parts of the year i can drive to work with just the filtering costs of free fuel sources. you can not easily do that with gasoline engines.

you have to weigh it all out. theres no one single solution to powering these things or anything.

Diesels are good for everything. It's all about the gearing. A diesel can mud. It can also do shit all day long unlike its gasoline counterparts.

I wonder where that broncho 2 is located...thought I saw one driving in my town the other day that looked jsut like it but didnt get a good look as to if it had a SAS or if it just had a TTB lift but looked like it was at FW.

I dont think a D30 would like to hold the weight of a 6.2/6.5 engine though but if I had to go D44, then ya I would consider it.
