I got a 95' ranger with a 4.0. I just got done reading how to do the swap in the tech section. Is it that easy of just getting the pump it says, grinding on the bracket it said to use, bolting it all up, using the old original ranger pulley, then hooking it all up using the original ranger hoses?? All without any exta fittings and the rangers old pulley fitting the Saginaw and lining back up??? Sounds too easy, but that would be something I could live with if it is.

I dunno but I can tell you soon. I have the new saginaw sitting in a box in my garage and a leaking stocker bolted on my Explorer.

Yes it is that simple. The hardest part is going to be finding the pump. My saginaw pump recently died and I was not able to find another one anywhere everyone told me they were obsolete, so your best shot is finding one that has been sitting on a shelf in some parts store for a while. I had no choice but AGR.

Wow, I have access to plenty of them. They are new, not reman. Cost me $44.

Really? What store? I wish I could have gotten another one. I installed my AGR yesterday and the performance is the same as the saginaw but it's still not as quiet.

I get them from a local O'Reillys. He has them in stock and can get more. $37 + tax.

Go to the website and use 37830 as your zip code.

Says saginaw right on the box.

I used a 79 F-350 as my lookup vehicle.

So just to clarify, is the bracket a part you have to buy extra or is it the Ranger bracket and you just modify it?

What's the part number at O'Rielly's and is it with the resevoir?

When I looked at oreillys it was without res.

The bracket is the ranger bracket, not sure if you need to modify the 4.0 bracket I did it on a 3.0

Is there a model that comes with the resevoir? If no, what is used for a resevoir?

Anyone have an answer for this? Sorry but I think I want to try this over the weekend while the weather is nice.

The only complete pumps are going to be found in a junkyard. It is very hard to source the complete pump. Get one and then put a new pump in for less than $75. My jy pump was $20 and then $40 for the new pump from o'reilly.

The metal resevoir is no longer in production.

So I was going to the junkyard tomorrow to get a bracket to modify. Which trucks (and cars?) should I look for to get a pump out of the get a reseviour to use?

811391 napa part# unclear if it comes with res or not.

States P/S Pump w/o Reservoir - Remfd

So what I need to know is how I go about sourcing a resevior to complete the swap. I am going to the junkyard and don't want to really blindly get a pump to pull the resevior off of then have it be the wrong one

On O'Rielly's site under "This part also fits" section (part Part # 20-840) they list other manufaturuers other than Ford.

Is there an easy way to know which pump I need to get from the junkyard?
