Just bought a running 87 5-speed turbo coupe...... Even drove it home!!!! :yahoo: Gonna rip the poor T-bird's heart out and make the Ranger one screamin' little truck....... Unfortunately, not many mods I can do cuz I gotta smog it (Welcome to California, please leave your balls at the front gate!!!!!!):icon_rofl:
 
I am a former California resident. My answer to emissions testing was to own old cars--a '68 VW and a '64 Galaxie. Having to chew the air before you swallow it sucks so I was willing to go along with it. When I lived in Paris there were hot summer days where you could stand at the Pl. De La Concorde and not see the Arc De Triomphe which is a stone block a mile away and 250' tall.
 
I'm gonna start on Saturday, if the rain stays away!!!!! I'll take plenty of pics and post them either Sunday night or Monday.........
 
got the new motor in, still doing the wiring and exhaust work...... STUPID RAIN!!!!!! :lame: Gotta work all this week, so it'll be next week before I get to it again......

:) good luck man, i built my original engine, but i have 2 rangers and the other one i plan to do the engine swap so i can learn how to do the whole harness stuff.

If this stupid rain ever goes away, I'll be able to finish it!!!!! I'm am SO anxious to get it fired up and running...... :yahoo:
 
SHE"S ALIVE!!!!!!!!! Got the rest of the wiring done today, and it fired right up!!!!!! No check engine light, no leaks, nothing at all...... Gotta get over to the exhaust shop in the morning to get the headpipe welded....... will be taking many more pics tomorrow!!!!
 
Gonna have pics up on Monday or Tuesday..... been working all week, and by the time I get a chance to take pics, its dark out!!! Supposed to start warming up this weekend, so its finaaly gonna be nice outside for my 2 days off!!!!

i see so many of these swaps and most of them have many many wiring questions. good job bud.
 
Got the next two days off and the weather is going to be beautiful!!!! Taking lots of pics and, if I can, gonna post a video as well......
