reg cab short bed

it was a former service truck. there is no xl or xlt under the ranger emblem on the fenders. im pretty sure its as entry level as you can get. so im sure its the xl.

now do i have 2 or 4 wheel abs? or how can i find out? and do i have the 9 or 10 inch rear brakes? thanks in advance

I believe 4 wheel ABS. Look for ABS [speed] sensors on the front wheels.

As for 9 or 10 inch drums, I'd just yank a tire and drum off and measure it -- it's a crapshoot otherwise. My supercab *should* have 10", but turns out they're 9". Likewise, my buddy's reg cab (88, 2.3, 2wd) should be 9"..but they're 10". Dur?

if it stops raining ill take a look this weekend. i sure hope its only rear wheel abs. otherwise the front rotors are almost double.

I am going to guess rabs. I think if you look on the driver side fender you will see an abs modulator with a line coming from the master cylinder. if you have 4w abs I think you should see 3 or 4 lines coming from that to each wheel. if you have rabs you should see 1 line going to the rear wheels.

If your drums are "finned," then they're 9." If they're "smooth" they're 10."

exbass thanks for the info on the drum size, however is one drum used with abs brakes?

while checking my brakes, i found out that my brake rotors are a hub/rotor assembly. so if im going to have to remove the rotors to have them resurfaced, i might as well put in new bearings. but im likely going to just replace the rotors and throw in new bearings and pads. the total will be $115 at kragen. im going to stop by the post office and tell them i just moved. hopefully they still have the coupon book with a 20% coupon for kragen.
