This is my first go at working on an automatic transmission. I had to change out the tailshaft on my AOD to get it to mate up to the BW-1350. So, with the ford manual in hand we pulled it apart, pretty easy. Changed the tailshaft out, that was easy too.

Putting it back together.... different story. Compare the following pics and tell me which one looks like it's healthy, lol.

Guess i'll be scrounging some part tommorow...

Anybody know if I can get away with tearing apart my retired A4LD and robbing a friction plate? Are they the same as whats in the AOD? perhaps the A4LD has 3 discs instead of 5 like the AOD?

Im pretty sure the A4LD parts wont work, but if its a retired trans I guess its worth a shot, you never know.
