I have an 89 bronco 2, with a bit of problems. it seems to run fine when its cooled down but if I run her for a while over 45 mph or so she'll start to bog way down. I was on the interstate one time not going but ten minutes away going 60 to 65 mph and she started the same thing slowed way down the rpms go way high and would not go past 30 mph. any idea what this could be?

sounds like a stoped up converter to me

sounds like you have a pluged up exaust system

already knocked out the converters, thats what me and my dad thought it was at first its still doing the same thing just not as bad.

Thats a long way to go before exhaust will give you problems. When you say its revving up does that mean that the motor is pulling hard and meeting resistence? What does the tranny fluid smell like? When it does this check for heat if its something in the drivetrain it will be making a lot of heat.Is it dragging or slipping when the RPM's go up do you have to let off the gas or does it go 30 floored?Does the engine still feel smooth or is it missing when it slows down.

its not missing, its just dragging.

mine did this exact thing.. does it run a little hotter as well? check the base timing, replace the tfi module.

for me it was a bad o2 sensor on the exhaust, same symptoms
