I just put a PA kit on my 03....I'm definitely a newbie and I was able to do it. I had a pretty knowledgeable buddy help me out, but that was mostly for my peace of mind, to assure me I wasn't screwing anything up too bad.

With the PA kit a lot of the pictures were worthless, but some were a HUGE help. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the PA kit, my only complaint is that I had some issues with the rear bumper lift brackets not fitting so great, but I got the thing on there alright!

Can you install this yourself? Sorry I am a new to this, or does it require a lift?

you'll definitely need to be able to lift the body/bed sections to install the lift kit. most just use jacks and jack stands to get the job done. and it is much easier if you have a buddy or two helping out. should take half a day or so with a little help.

thats because the rear bumper is on the bottom side of the frame on the 97 and down and there isnt really a way to raise it
