Hey I have my 91 2wd Ranger. My brake light and anti-lock light is on, I replaced the sensor on the diff. and the abs pump on the frame. Still the lights are on. I pulled the codes and came to the conclusion that I need a abs computer. I dont really want to replace it because I dont like the rabs system anyway. So my question is can I bypass the whole system in any sort of way? I have to get an inspection soon and they fail the car if the light is on. Please help.

Thanks Mike

Years ago I pulled out my RABS valve in my 89 B2. It leaked, so I put a connector in the line. My RABS and Brake light had burnt out a long time ago.

So a couple months back I wanted my Brake light to come on when I set the ebrake so I replaced the bulb. Lo and behold it would not shut off because of the ABS valve missing.

Under the center of the dash on my 89 there was a grey connector going to a box. I unplugged it and my door buzzer stopped. Then I unplugged a second plug and the ABS went off.

So if your 91 is the same as my 89, there is a black box under the dash, right in the center, with a gray connector... maybe 5-6 wires.

Hope this helps.

If the light is on the system is already non functional.

So you can easily bypass it, disconnect the control module
disconnect the valve

You can even splice the line and physically remove the valve.

The system doesn't work for shit anyway so take it off.
