i had removed the ball shifter out of transmission (had it in nuetral) and when i removed it, a popping sound happened. When i got everything back together, the shifter seems to be in nuetral but cant get it into gear and it seems to be in gear already.

What did i hear and is there anything i can do to fix this?

Well if you did what I did and left it in gear when you took it out, you are going to have to locate two buttons in the shift rail(one is so you don't accidently shift into 6th (reverse lockout) and the other is a neutral switch or something). One is on the right which you should be able to see. Then the other is on the left... It either should be towards the top or bottom....depending on the gear it was in. I can't remember if you have to push the button or anything but the left side should slide...what you want to do is get the two buttons/switches to be straight across from each other. Then it should be good. Freaked me out :scare:when I went to put everything back together and it wouldn't shift, spent almost an hour figuring this out. Good luck.:D

thanks!! i will take a look for that.

Plus< i sould have probably mentioned what eng and tranny i have, lol

THANK YOU!!! :D

That fixed it!! The transmission was in first. I must have bumped into gear and didnt realize it.

FYI, The "two buttons" only center the shift lever in the 3-4 gate.

the reverse lockout is the little square "finger" on the left side of the shifter opening.
