Hello,
I was wondering is it the same to do a 4bt swap in a 1993 to say 2000 or does things change and get harder as the year gets newer?

I was wondering is it difficult to search "4BT Ranger swap" in a Google search to say a Bing search, or is all of today's youth just getting lazier as years go by?

You go google 4bt into a ranger, and see if that supplies you with the answer hes after...

If I were to guess, I would say the newer you go, the more work it becomes because computers control more and more on the Ranger.

You are showing your age AgPete.

Each generation accuses the next generation of being lazy....and disrespectful.

"When I was your age.......", lol, hey I do it too :)

There are quotes found in ancient writings, we are talking BC(Before Christ), that make much the same comments about their "kids", lazy and no respect for their elders, pretty much no hope for the survival of the human race if these kids are an example.

Well, we are still here(the human race), and still complaining about the "kids" :icon_thumby:

Go for the 93-97. It has a better set up on putting in a big engine like that. You could do it in a 98-00, but like surrey said, computer set up is gonna be even more trickier. Go on youtube and type in 1993 ford ranger cummins. It will come up and show you what it is like.

1993...2000... Its all exactly the same...
Pull the engine, install new engine, drive it....

Sounds simple right?

Ron, I'm 30, and logged onto TRS back in 2002. Even back then, there were plenty of answers to be found online and this site. We've lost information twice due to international hacking, but there remains a substantial amount of information here.

I guess I may be overly harsh, from young Ranger enthusiasts to my younger brother, but I personally feel that a question should be backed by proof of an earnest attempt at attaining information.

"I looked underneath my engine block, and looked at ChangeMyOil.com, but I still cannot locate my drain plug. Can you point me in the right direction?"

I'd love to help this guy out. But, many of the posters on here ask a simple question (he just joined a week ago), we never hear back from them, they are rude when they get the truth, or they post/spam the same subject multiple times (like this OP that DieselDane pointed out). It also bothers me that people (like this OP) don't use any punctuation.

Have you seen the movie, "Idiocracy?"

I was wondering how many threads he was going to start about the same subject.

Thanks Diesel for linking it.

Here's a link to 75 other 4BT swap discussions using "4BT swap Ranger."

Plenty to look through.

Here's ANOTHER random link I just Googled to doing a 4BT swap in a Gen IV+ Ranger, that answers this same question:

OH, LOOK! Another...

Or how about this:

Ron, it's really not too difficult.

Mr. Joeink of 6 posts, I hope you find your answer. If you do, in fact, decide to follow through with this swap, please create a build thread on here to document your process for others to follow in your footsteps in the future. It will look really cool. And, I am eager to eat my hat the day that you finish your 4BT swap after using TRS as your free information whore.

Regards,

Pete

Says the man who is 18 months into his 4BT Explorer and still doesn't even have the spark plugs in it.

That's actual the problem.... It's STILL has spark plugs in it! :thefinger:

I got an email yesterday from hamilton cams. They have 4bt cams in stock again. I'm ordering it Monday.
