its simply not a v8 case....never an option period. :dunno:

what manual trans was it on?

if it was on a fullsize trans, did you get the spud and adapter? that will be worth a few hundred, likely an aa piece.


your sure it was a v8 engine in it? or did it just have v8 badges? i know they made 2 door fleet v8 explorers in 95 and 96. haliburton owned a few. never seen one with a manual or heard of a v8 with a manual or low range transfer case, it would have had a 44 series case behind a v8 trans regardless.

likely it had a 4.0 powertrain in it when you got to it.
 
Ok bud why don't I just put it this way I went and pulled it myself. I wasn't getting carried way going oh boy look at all this shit that don't make sense it was a 5.0 v8 explorer with a manual transmission and a manual tcase. It was a bw1354 and that's what I needed so I didn't much care about the rest. I'm getting a kick out of it cause people like you think just because its odd it could never happen well guess what it was. It was at a scrap yard one day when I was dumping some crap so I didn't get to concerned I just wanted the tcase out of it. I know what it was and that it. If somebody swapped it in there or not I don't know but I guess I'm going to have to do some research to make my point. Sorry but it is what it is and I do know what I was looking at.
 
I like what you are doing and that you are documenting parts and prices. No need to get your nickers in a knot about questions tho. I don't think they are dissing you, I think people are questioning because they like to see the correct info in case someone wants to copy what you do.

Thanks for the comment if anyone does need any info I have all the stuff written down for it and all the parts that interchange for most years.

if some poor bastard went and pulled a v8 explorer t case because of this to put on their 4.0 truck they would be fawked because of YOUR IMPLICATIONS of interchangeability due to factory offerings and options..like this is something thats generally possible. this whole deal is implied on that subject from the title of the thread.

you got a lucky one in a million chance literally and play it off as a rare factory option of some sort. an inexperienced person would not know better.

the sad part is you left behind the most valuable parts....more valuable then that t case you pulled.

Ok bud why don't you do me a little thing and just call your local ford dealer and ask from 1988 to 2011 the 4x4 rangers and explores ran the same size and spline count output transmission shaft and in 1995 there was 5% of the v8 manual transmission explorers had a manual tcase so why don't you go fawk yourself if that's how we say it. You must just be one of them people that like to here yourself talk. And any ford ranger edge or like mine the unmarked older style torsion bar 2wd you can swap in a 4x4 system like I said so do me a little helping had either show me something to back your facts of why I'm wrong or leave the thread ok. This ain't a hard thing to get so get off my ass ok trust me this is what I do. Nothing I have said is wrong or inaccurate don't believe it can be done come look truck already went out

1995, 5 percent v8 explorers came with a manual trans?

let alone a manual t case?


what manual trans was used? a hybrid m50d?

i sure as hell know what it takes to convert a torsion truck to 4x4. its a bolt in, gets done often because of that. any fukkin retard with a walmart tool set and lkq account can pull that off in a few hours.


your magical fairy factory option on the other hand has a little more complexity.

get me a vin and doortag for your unicorn and i can verify it. i sure as fawk wont do that through a dealer. ford corporate is just a bit more reliable for that.

but i already know it never happened. i already looked. i do know there were some early 2 door units, none manual, all fleet.



i know all rangers came 25 spline with 5 bolt pattern.

more importantly i also know what all v8 of the era came with as well.

thus the adapter and spud you missed mr likes to here himself talk.

Ok bud getting a little aggravated with you I know it can be done but when I was a member before I started stuff on this build long before you where a member here I probably have more certs and field experience then you but that aside along with all the factory training I have in many areas. If you want to go farther come look at it in Akron ohio buddy. I have alot to do and all I can say is your an ignorant fawk.

Transfer case from a 97 5.0 explorer
Rear driveshaft from a 03 ranger (had to change front yoke to make work with tcase)
Front driveshaft from a 95 ranger ( that way the cv style at the tcase is gone)
Front dif from a 98 explorer ( gears do max my old they are 4.10)
Cv axels from the 98 explorer ( doing this to eliminate the vacuum hubs of the rangers)
Front knuckles from a ranger think it was the 03( put the explorer wheel bearings in it )
Front rotors came with knuckles they where new just turned the rust off save a $

Any questions let me know the build starts this Saturday the 4th pictures will post as we go.

The used parts transmission, transfercase, driveshafts, front diff, cv, and steering knuckles came in at $500. The new wheel bearings, ujoints, fluids, and misc. came in around $400. Now the trasmission we had to buy half way through had a tcase on it so there about $100 back plus my old transmission is worth about $200. So after all that said this build cost around $600 total after everything is said and done. And don't worry there's more to come on this truck.

one of my favorite colors as well.



should run real well off road with just a rear locker. i would be tempted to convert to brake bias up front for sticky situations, but that configuration sure does well off road ime.
 
Right now it has a trac-lock in the rear so we will see how it does and go from there it's not really for just wheeling it's more of a hunting rig that we can go out and beat on and not worry about driving it to work Monday
