check resistance.
i just pull them and see how well they burn. often they pass resistance but dont burn good.
of course this is assuming you checked to make sure they get power when the gp light is on, unless that is already bypassed and all you have to do is push a button or flip a switch somewhere else in the cab.
i prefer manual glow control myself.
