Max RPM

So my rev limiter is at 3000 right now, does anyone know the max it can go up to without damaging the engine, such as if the rev limiter was removed? I have the 4.0L SOHC and I've read that redline is at 6k.

That dont sound right, my 4.0 mustang was 4.5 or 5 k

Auto? That rev limiter is only in park or neutral.

It should shift in regular driving higher than 3,500. Haha

Yeah, well story time, so mines an auto and I had got in it today and I have a jacked up leg in a brace, I started it up and accidently hit the gas pedal and it caused it to rev to 4k, in park. Don't ask me how I did it but, I thought it might have damaged the engine or something. Because the rev limiter only goes to 3k. In the least it sounded badass..
