I've been researching it all day. Those are the coolant lines on top of the manifold that go to the throttle body.
From what I've read, many threads and articles, all they do is warm up the throttle body. Its very common to bypass this by connecting the hoses together. It supposedly didn't hurt anything.

Right. I'm just going to bypass it for now since it is summer. I will worry about it come fall. Thanks for your help.
