97 B-2300 Instrument Panel Fuse Blows

Manual
key switch on: instrurment panel gauges and lights work.
Turn key to start: Instrument panel fuse blows instantly
All other functions OK.
Any advice?

57 views and no help? Hmmmm. Well I'll take a shot in the dark and tell you to check out the ignition switch. You say everything is fine with the key in the "ON" position, but as soon as you turn it to "START" the fuse blows. Does it blow even with the instrument panel lights off? My guess is a bad switch. Something shorting between the ignition circuit and the lighting circuit.
