95 explorer 4x4 transmission & transfer to 2000 ranger 4x4 will it work

hello my 4.0 ranger transmissions reverse went out and i have the tranny & transfer from a 95 explorer, would it work and would i be better off to switch both or just the transmission I've done used the shift servo off the transfer case on my ranger i had to change the wiring harness! I don't know what motor the explorer had. any help would be greatly appreciated

Different tranny. Wont work right. It would be important to know which engine was in the explorer to.

Also, you have never "done did" anything.

Maybe. Didn't the 95 use the 1354 still? As long as it isn't an AWD unit the t-case should be the same aside from a different front output.

Nope.
All genII v6 Explorers used the 44-05.
IIRC, All genII v8 AWD Explorers used the 44-04.
