9" rear swap

I have a question to anyone that has done a 9" swap. What u-joint did you use to mate you driveshaft to the rear end? Did you use your factory driveshaft?

my driveshaft was to short so i made a spacer/adapter, looks a little sketchy but my truck never goes on the road and so far i have had no issue with it. drilled and tapped a 1" thick block, mating the stock driveshaft yolk to the ford 9" yolk. i have also seen people use the end of the driveshaft that was originally with the 9" and sleeve and weld it over the ranger driveshaft, also a little sketchy.

The u-joint is a 1310-1330 bastard joint. I cut and sleeved my slip yoke for the extra length.

I had my stock driveshaft re-tubed, aka lengthened. Both oem yokes and slip yoke, Removed the flange.

I am using the factory yoke from my 78 big bearing, Bronco 9".

And they are attached using the factory Ranger rear u-joint, as it was the same as the Bronco's joint.

My spline count was identical to the bronco ii driveline so i used the female driveline side off the f-150 and then used the male side of the bronco ii!

yea I scratched the whole swap idea.....motor lost oil pressure the other day so the truck is back under construction
