Doing PA body lift. My 94 has nuts that you can easily hold while unscrewing from inside the cab. The 03 appears to be screwed directly into the bushing. The bolts will turn but they turn the bushings with them (probably rusted together). I've PB'ed them for days. What can I use to hold the bushing still while turning the top. I don't want to use vise grips on the actual rubber because I haven't found a source for aftermarket bushings (Duff, etc only go to 97).

prying isn't all that helpful bc as soon as you start turning the bolt/bushing, the prybar changes angles and/or falls out.

use a big pair of channel locks. the bushing is really strong so it won't ruin it. i've done it on two trucks now that i've body lifted

Thats what I used. Big channel locks/pipe wrench. On my 88 it tore threw a couple because they were so rusted and rotted. I ended up getting an angle grinder for those guys..

the bushing is threaded so it acts as a nut, heat from the bottom and they will come loose. dont get crazy, just cherry it and hit the bolt with an impact.
