Fine, since you won't update this, I will!

Big John hobbled his way up to the state capital this weekend and picked up my old doubler setup. He got it most of the way installed, and shortened his wheelbase. He still needs to burn in some tabs, and has a couple odds and ends he has to take care of such as shackle location and such, but it's pretty much installed.

His setup does drop the case below the frame, but keeps the case clocked almost flat with no real mods to the floor of the truck.

He also picked up some 2x4 1/4" or 3/8" wall rectangle stock and is building sliders out of those. I don't think those are done yet, but he does have all the material, I think he was just waiting until he figured out what the wheelbase was going to be.

I do know that his goal is to have it ready to wheel by the 27, when a group of us are meeting up at Wishbone Ranch in Bowling Green, KY for the Crawl reader rides event.

what Josh said

started on it bright and early yesterday....got the old case out...had to swap the T-case shift motors since his had a different plug than mine...but no big deal....

also used the extended front drive shaft he gave me along with a longer slip to get the front shaft in....

as for the rear, I shortened the wheelbase about 10"....which with the doubler lets me use a Reg. Cab Ranger 4wd rear shaft...so spares will be easy to come by if I need one...or 2

as for now to get it goin, I need to install my new rear x member to carry the rear shackles as well as the tabs for the doubler x member mounts....

l8r, John

woulda took pics but my camara's batteries are dead...
